The MSU Large Animal BSL-2 is a specially designed facility providing research space to house larger research animals (<400 lbs) with BSL-2 containment for immunology and infectious disease experiments.

  • Inoculation ( Support service )

    Facility staff can perform delivery of inocula to large research animals (<400 lbs) as indicated by IACUC-approved research projects.

  • Large research animal husbandry ( Support service )

    Facility staff can perform basic and specialized animal husbandry as indicated by IACUC-approved research projects.

    Immunology; Host-Pathogen Interaction; Infectious Disease.

    Large animal/livestock research facility (<400 lbs). External access dependent on resource availability/research interests.

  • Surgery ( Support service )

    Facility staff can perform basic surgical procedures as indicated by IACUC-approved research projects.

    Immunology; Host-Pathogen Interaction; Infectious Disease.

    Large animal/livestock research facility (<400 lbs). External access dependent on resource availability/research interests.

  • Tissue harvest ( Support service )

    Facility staff can harvest various tissue types as related to IACUC-approved research projects.
