Current Research

My interests lie in describing and modeling the physical, chemical, and biological processes that are important in sessile microbial community ecology. Long term aims include developing modeling techniques needed to connect biofilm models to real world microbial communities and to use biofilm modeling methods to help further develop theory for microbial communities, especially description and prediction of niche structure based on the physico-chemical environment.
